The PGY2 infectious diseases pharmacy residency program at Texas Children’s Hospital is a new, 12-month program focused on direct patient care, practice management, and education of healthcare providers, patients, and caregivers. This program is designed to meet the pre-defined program goals and objectives as outlined by ASHP and is able to be tailored to the resident’s interests and past experiences. The training program will allow the resident to gain experience in infectious diseases pharmacotherapy in pediatric patients and lead an antimicrobial stewardship program. Research will also be a core experience for the resident. The resident will be able to work to optimize the medication use process in providing care for patients with infectious diseases. The resident will also be involved in educating other learners, healthcare providers, and patients/caregivers. The program begins the first Monday of July.
This program will be recruiting through PPS and ASHP Midyear. Any interested applicants that are not attending Midyear should email the program leadership to inquire about virtual showcases. Applications must be submitted through Phorcas by 1-3-2025. This program begins on 7-7-2025.
