Antimicrobial Stewardship (ASP) pharmacist is sought to join the Southwest Minnesota (SWMN) Antimicrobial Stewardship pharmacy team. This is a full-time position working from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, based in Mankato, Minnesota. Position involves regional travel and hybrid work based on business needs. The ASP pharmacist will be responsible for collaborative ASP activities and will practice in a highly interdisciplinary environment alongside a network of Mayo Clinic ASP pharmacists, physicians, and healthcare administrators. Antimicrobial therapies will be optimized through advanced stewardship tools within the electronic health record, patient care consultation, and review of antimicrobial usage. This position will participate in the Mayo Clinic Health Systems Minnesota Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee and in numerous regional and Enterprise quality improvement activities. Participates in scholarly activities and educates healthcare professionals and learners regarding optimal antimicrobial use. Participates in quality improvement and resource management initiatives. Participates in and supports research activities of the Pharmacy Department and Antimicrobial Stewardship. Supports continuous improvement, patient safety, and various departmental and institutional accreditation programs. A Pharmacist at Mayo Clinic provides medication management services in coordination with other health care professionals to deliver safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapy to patients. Responsibilities may include assessment of medication therapy regimens, medication therapy management, medication order verification/entry, medication distribution, medication therapy monitoring, and consultation, documentation of medication therapy plans, and medication use education and pharmaceutical care services. Participates in collaborative practice and/or protocol-driven practice as appropriate. Additionally, pharmacists are active members in quality improvement, research activities, and education as described in the job specific competencies and supported through extensive institutional and departmental resources.

Job Requirements  

The position will be Monday-Friday, dayshift hours, no Mayo Clinic schedule holidays, weekends, or evenings. Previous experience required includes PGY1 or PGY2 residency training and/or equivalent of at least 2 years in related practice area. Board certification in Infectious Diseases (BCIDP) is encouraged within 1 year of hire, if not already present. Salary is based on experience and training.
