The Novant Health infectious diseases pharmacy team is growing with TWO new positions available. This is a team expansion growing from a team of 6 ID pharmacists to a team of 8 ID pharmacists. The ID pharmacist functions as an antimicrobial stewardship pharmacist, working closely with ID and non-ID providers. There is system-wide stewardship coverage 7 days per week, first shift only. Other ID pharmacist responsibilities include but are not limited to evaluating antimicrobial utilization data, order set optimization, education development, and PGY1/PGY2 resident and P4 student precepting.
Novant Health is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist Infectious Disease, to join our acute care pharmacy team, to deliver optimal medication management across all dimensions of care, every time.

Essential functions include:
- Facilitates pharmaceutical care services, medication utilization systems within assigned services and care areas to ensure drug utilization activities are aligned with patient care needs, evidence- based best practices and regulatory standards
- PGY2 Infectious Diseases Residency or equivalent clinical pharmacy experience in infectious diseases/antimicrobial stewardship, BCIDP preferred
- Completes critical patient monitoring and reviews patient profile/chart to identify, prevent, or mitigate drug-related problems
- Partners as an active member of the multidisciplinary team and collaborates with healthcare providers within decentralized patient care areas to provide patient-centered care
- Makes appropriate evidence-based, patient-centered medication recommendations
- Maintains proficiency in preceptor roles and actively emulates education/mentorship skills
Qualifications
- Education: Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy required.
- Experience: ASHP-accredited PGY2 infectious diseases residency or equivalent clinical pharmacy experience in infectious diseases/antimicrobial stewardship required. Clinical pharmacy experience in specialty area preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Licensed to practice pharmacy and in good standing with state board of pharmacy. In the absence of a license to practice pharmacy in the applicable state, licensure, whether by examination or reciprocity, must be completed within 90 days of the date of hire.
- Additional skills required: Minimum two years of hospital pharmacy experience. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed.
- Additional skills preferred: Board certification, other duties as outlined in Novant Health and specific facility policies and procedures
