The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship will participate in systemwide stewardship responsibilities, including MUSC facilities and MUSC Health affiliates, partners and/or contractual organizations They will help provide multidisciplinary education on safe antimicrobial use, create and implement guidelines, serve as a liaison between the microbiology labs across the system, and analyze metrics for antimicrobial utilization to satisfy new and existing CDC and Joint Commission standards.

Job Description
The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship will participate in systemwide stewardship responsibilities, including MUSC facilities and MUSC Health affiliates, partners and/or contractual organizations They will help provide multidisciplinary education on safe antimicrobial use, create and implement guidelines, serve as a liaison between the microbiology labs across the system, and analyze metrics for antimicrobial utilization to satisfy new and existing CDC and Joint Commission standards.
The specialist will function as part of the MUSC Antimicrobial Stewardship pharmacy team and will participate in stewardship on-call and cross-coverage as deemed necessary. They will also play an integral role in the MUSC Health ID PGY2 residency program. Opportunities for multidisciplinary ID consult rounds available dependent on primary location and interest.
Additional Job Description
Minimum Training and Education: Doctor of Pharmacy or a Bachelor's degree in pharmacy. Completion of a pharmacy residency preferred. Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
