JOB SUMMARY
Manages clinical activities, priorities, and problems, pharmacist staffing and workloads. Provides status report to pharmacy management effectively communicating issues, concerns, and suggestions as appropriate. Manages and develops clinical initiatives and determines therapeutic alternatives when drug shortages are identified and communicates with medical staff leadership and key stakeholders. Assists with budget preparation and daily financial activity specifically in relation to high cost drugs. Assists the Director and Assistant Vice President of Pharmacy with meeting administrative goals and objectives.This position is part of the pharmacy department and functions as the pharmacy expert on the Infectious Diseases team, with a primary focus on supporting the OPAT program. This new position will play a key role in expanding OPAT services to include transplant ID patients and in developing the CoPAT service to optimize care for individuals receiving complex IV and oral antimicrobial therapies. While the main emphasis will be on OPAT and ambulatory stewardship, there will also be opportunities to participate in inpatient ID consult rounds and to precept pharmacy residents and/or students, offering a well-rounded clinical experience.
