PGY2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Resident

Residency Special Features: The primary goal of this program is to train and develop a residents to become independent clinicians and leaders in infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship.  The program allows for flexibility so that elective rotations can be tailored based on the resident’s clinical interests and career goals.  Core rotations include: Infectious Diseases (ID) Consults I & II, Antimicrobial Stewardship I & II, Clinical Microbiology Lab, Transplant ID, HIV clinic, Hepatitis C clinic, and Leadership & Administration in ID.  Longitudinal rotations include: Emergency Medicine Antimicrobial Stewardship and OPAT (outpatient parenteral antibiotic therapy) clinic.  Residents will also carry the antibiotic approval pager at certain times throughout the year.  To learn more about our program: https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/pharmacy/residency/our-programs/pgy2-infectious-diseases.aspx

Special Requirements for Acceptance: PharmD graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy; completion of or currently training in an ASHP accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice residency program; must be a United States citizen or carry a permanent resident visa; must be eligible for New York State licensure; curriculum vitae; three letters of recommendation; college transcript; letter of intent stating goals and interests.

Site Special Features: Strong Memorial Hospital is a tertiary care teaching hospital for the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, New York. The hospital offers a Level 1 trauma center, medical oncology, cardiothoracic surgery, an extensive cardiovascular center, pediatric services, burn/trauma, bone marrow and solid-organ transplantation, and ambulatory care.
