Sharp HealthCare is seeking an Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship (ID/ASP) Pharmacist to join a collaborative clinical pharmacy and antimicrobial stewardship team. Sharp Grossmont Hospital is a 500+ bed community hospital serving the greater San Diego area and providing a broad range of acute care and specialty clinical services.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the pharmacy leader and subject matter expert for Infectious Diseases and Antimicrobial Stewardship, providing expert consultation and evidence-based recommendations.
Collaborate with infectious diseases physicians and multidisciplinary teams to optimize antimicrobial therapy and improve patient outcomes via prospective audit and feedback, stewardship recommendations, and surveillance activities.
Develop, implement, and maintain antimicrobial treatment guidelines, protocols, clinical pathways, and stewardship initiatives.
Participate in quality improvement, medication use evaluations, outcomes research, cost-effective medication use initiatives, and regulatory readiness activities.
Educate pharmacists, physicians, nurses, residents, students, and other healthcare professionals on infectious diseases pharmacotherapy and antimicrobial stewardship best practices.
Precept pharmacy residents and students and contribute to professional development and staff competency programs.
Participate in interdisciplinary committees, hospital initiatives, and system-wide efforts to promote medication safety, quality, and evidence-based patient care.
Support operational pharmacy services as needed and contribute to a culture of collaboration, excellence, and patient-centered care.
Qualifications:
PGY2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residency preferred, or
PGY1 Pharmacy Residency with at least one year of infectious diseases and/or antimicrobial stewardship experience in an acute care setting
