Clinical Pharmacy Specialist - Antimicrobial Stewardship/ID
The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship will participate in stewardship and infectious diseases responsibilities at the academic medical center and support the MUSC Health System Antimicrobial Stewardship Team. They will help provide multidisciplinary education on safe antimicrobial use, create and implement guidelines, serve as a liaison between the microbiology labs across the system, and analyze metrics for antimicrobial utilization to satisfy new and existing CDC and Joint Commission standards.
The specialist will function as part of the MUSC Antimicrobial Stewardship pharmacy team and will participate in stewardship staffing and cross-coverage as deemed necessary. They will also play an integral role in the MUSC Health ID PGY2 residency program.
Additional Job Description
Minimum Training and Education: Minimum Training and Education: Doctor of Pharmacy or a Bachelor's degree in pharmacy and completion of a PGY1 pharmacy residency are required. Specialized training as a PGY2 in Infectious Diseases or significant experience in Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship preferred. Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
